Törggelen in South Tyrol

Törggelen in South Tyrol

Enjoy your holiday with your family at Naturno in the Family-Hotel Tyrol **** with traditional "Törggelen"!

The “Törggelen” has always been a tradition  in South Tyrol. Especially along the wine road and in the Eisack Valley - everywhere, where wine is produced.

All helpers were invited at a little party where the new wine and the Suser (new wine before fermentation), "were tasted" to a big Marende.

What they served? The meal is a traditional home kitchen with: cabbage, dumpling and smoked meat, home made sausages called “Kaminwurzen” bacon, cheese and everything what belongs to. For dessert you will find South Tyrolean donats and roasted chestnuts with butter.

The name "Törggelen” comes from the Latin word "torquere", which means as much as 'To press wine'.

Enjoy various autumn festivals like: the Riesling Days in Naturno, the Grape Festival in Merano, the Chestnut Days in Völlan and much more.

"Törggelen": Every Wednesday in the center of Naturno from 03th October until 14en November.
